Test 4: A new era for Oklahoma journalism

On January X, we will launch First Read Oklahoma, a modern news source with a small team of scrappy, experienced journalists.

What readers can expect: Original and aggregated reporting of top news and current events from across Oklahoma delivered in a smart newsletter to your inboxes each weekday. This message reflects our style.

Our mission: To inform and connect our audience to all things Oklahoma.

Meet our co-editors:

  • Carmen Forman joins us from The Oklahoman where she covered the State Capitol. She also made reporting stops in Virginia and Arizona. She is a native Oklahoman and OU alum.

  • most recently reported for the XXXXX.

Why now?: Our lives are busy. Most of us want to wake up, scroll a few times, and feel connected to what's going on in Oklahoma. We grew tired of waiting for others to figure it out.

Our business model: We are privately owned and will rely on advertisers, paid subscribers, and reader generosity to stay in business. We will run lean and mean, and we need your support.

Make no mistake: We stand on the shoulders of many notable Oklahomans who reported the news before us - Rogers, Gaylord, Harvey, and Dyer to name a few. We aim to honor their rich legacies while creating our own.

Our promise: We will do our darnedest to earn and keep your trust.

Our ask: Sign up. Read us. Tell others.

And here we go...
